Early Life
Phillip Plein was born in Munich, on the 16th of February 1978. He lived a very standard early life in Germany, he’s father was a doctor and he’s mother was a stay at home mum. Plein studied law at the infamous Schloss Salem university which is considered one of the top schools in southern europe. From a young age Plein developed a creative streak and found insparation from travelling around the world with he’s family.
Professional Career
Whilst still studying in 1998 Plein decided to enter the world of design and started producing exclusive furnishings in steel and leather. Initially focused on pets, these designs were showcased to friends and family to begin with. After attracting huge initial interest Plein decided to branch out, In 2000 he launched his Home Collection, which expanded on he’s pet collection. Phillip Plein is known for using steel and expensive leathers to this day they are fundamental part of the brand. Plein went on to start he’s infamous fashion brand in circa. 2004.
By 2012 the demand for Pleins fashion had grown. He opened 10 boutiques accross the worldin locations such as; Moscow, Berlin, Dubai, Marbella, Milan, Seoul, Amsterdam, Baku, Macau, and St.Petersburg. In the period between 2013 and 2014, Plein opened additional 16 stores, in further locations across the world. As of today, Plein counts 26 Billionaire stores and 88 Philipp Plein stores across the world. He’s brands are present in over 60 countries and he’s showing now signs of slowing down.

Philipp Plein spends he’s time travelling all over the world spearheading he’s brand and it’s vision. He has residencies worldwide including New York, LA, Cannes and Switzerland. He’s primary residence is in Switzerland where he owns a huge 17 room mansion just a 10 minute ride from Lake Como. Judging by he’s Instagram feed summers are spent in a luxury villa in Cannes, south of France dubbed ‘La Jungle Du Roi’.
Plein is currently building a spectacular palatial mansion in Beverly Hills called ‘Chateau Falcon View’. He purchased the land back in 2014 with the development due for completion some time in 2022. With overall costs coming in at an eye watering $200+ million dollars you can be sure that Plein has sprinkled some of he’s defiant fashionable charm into the property. Relationships
He has been linked to numerous women over the years including Lindsy Lohan who was once a Plein brand ambassador. He has a son from a past relatioonship whom he is in contact with. He is currently in a relationship with british fashion model Lucia Bartoli and the couple are seen regularly on both their Instagram feeds.
